When planning your exit from the Watchtower organization, the repercussions for
departure vary upon the circumstances of each individual. Perhaps some were not
associated long enough with the organization to be fully indoctrinated into the
cult, or perhaps leaving the organization is a smoother transition for those who
had no family involved at the risk of being shunned by them. However, the
majority of Jehovah's Witnesses who leave the Watchtower organization are able
to go on with their lives without repercussions. Some leave always wondering if
they have done the right thing, remaining trapped in cult-like mentality and heavily
burdened with guilt thinking they will die at Armageddon unless they repent and
return to "Jehovah's organization". Others who leave the Watchtower organization
become bitter and angry through exposure to all of the lies they have been told , in
turn losing all faith in God and the Bible. Some who leave still have a love for
God and usually do not know where to turn to fill the spiritual void they now feel
in their lives. They find that they have spent the better years of their lives as
Jehovah's Witnesses only to find out that they have been duped by a multi-billion
dollar corporation, masquerading as a religion and preaching nothing but lies in
the name of God. For these ones, there are many groups that have been formed,
such as ex-JW meet ups, or seminars like the ones you have seen on this website,
where former Jehovah's Witnesses or other cult members can meet together for
fellowship or expose the doctrinal error of religious cults. For these people it
should be known that there is hope, many have found comfort by finding others
like themselves on the Internet and have been able to share their experiences as
well as make new friends to replace the conditional ones they left behind in the
organization. And for those who have left who still love God and want to continue
to learn about him, there are other places to meet like Christian ministries. One
such ministry is the Upper Room Ministries. We are an interactive group with
many who were once Jehovah's Witnesses, meeting together in a house church to
read and study the Bible in a simple way, and also expose the doctrinal error of the
Watchtower Society. If you would like more information about our ministry, or
